Client

EMRx Technologies & IRIA (Indian Radiologists Association)

Location

Bangalore, India

Task

Data Collection Platform, API Integration, Form-Based Submission, Analytics Engine, Multi-Parameter Tracking, Statistical Analysis, Research Database Development

Groundbreaking data collection and analytics platform developed for comprehensive fetal growth monitoring research in pregnant women across the Indian population.

Created in partnership between EMRx Technologies (developers of EMR solutions for Labor & Delivery) and IRIA (Indian Radiologists Association) to establish normalized, population-specific growth standards.

The platform collects, analyzes, and reports on over 30 fetal growth parameters through both API and form-based data submission methods, enabling large-scale medical research to establish standard reference values for Indian maternal healthcare.

Problems

Indian healthcare providers lacked population-specific fetal growth standards, relying instead on Western reference values that did not accurately reflect the Indian population's characteristics and growth patterns.

Existing research infrastructure could not efficiently collect comprehensive fetal biometry data at scale from multiple healthcare facilities across diverse geographic regions and demographic segments.

The medical community needed a robust platform capable of aggregating 30+ growth parameters, ensuring data quality, and performing statistical analysis to establish clinically reliable normative values for Indian pregnancies.

Solutions

Dual Data Submission Methods - Flexible API integration and web-based forms for seamless data collection from multiple sources

30+ Parameter Tracking - Comprehensive monitoring of fetal biometry measurements and maternal health indicators

EMR System Integration - Direct API connectivity with EMRx Labor & Delivery systems for automated data capture

Form-Based Data Entry - User-friendly web interface for manual data submission from healthcare facilities

Data Validation Engine - Automated quality checks ensuring accuracy and completeness of submitted parameters

Statistical Analytics Platform - Advanced analytics tools for calculating percentiles, growth curves, and standard deviations

Multi-Facility Data Aggregation - Centralized database collecting data from radiologists and hospitals nationwide

Research Database Architecture - Scalable infrastructure supporting large-scale longitudinal study requirements

Real-Time Reporting Dashboard - Analytics visualization for monitoring data collection progress and preliminary insights

Privacy & Compliance Framework - HIPAA-compliant data handling with de-identification and secure storage protocols

Process

Our development approach focused on creating a robust research platform that enables seamless data collection from diverse sources while maintaining the highest standards of data quality and research integrity.

We collaborated closely with IRIA radiologists and EMRx clinical experts to ensure the platform captured all clinically relevant parameters for establishing population-specific growth standards.

01

Platform Design & Data Architecture

Designed comprehensive data schema supporting 30+ fetal growth parameters with validation rules based on clinical guidelines.

Built scalable backend infrastructure with dual submission pathways through API integration and web forms to maximize data collection coverage.

02

Integration & Data Collection Tools

Developed RESTful APIs for seamless integration with EMRx EMR systems enabling automated data submission from Labor & Delivery workflows.

Created intuitive form-based interfaces for radiologists to submit ultrasound measurements directly from their facilities.

03

Analytics & Research Output

Implemented statistical analysis engines to calculate growth percentiles, establish normal ranges, and identify population-specific trends.

Deployed reporting dashboards providing IRIA researchers with real-time insights into data collection progress and preliminary findings for establishing Indian fetal growth standards.

Results

Successfully launched Samrakshan platform enabling systematic collection and analysis of fetal growth data from radiologists and healthcare facilities across India, supporting IRIA's landmark research initiative.

The platform's dual submission approach maximized participation, collecting comprehensive 30+ parameter datasets from diverse demographic segments to ensure representative population coverage.

Statistical analysis capabilities enabled IRIA researchers to establish normalized, evidence-based fetal growth standards specifically tailored for the Indian population, significantly improving accuracy of prenatal care and risk assessment for Indian pregnant women.
